Circle takes the world itself as a living gallery. Handcraft meets sound and movement, bringing maker, wearer and place into dialogue. As works travel, the histories they carry find new expression and continue through lived encounters.

A photograph becomes embroidery. Cloth enters a room of sound. A body carries the work into performance. What remains is not only documentation, but a record of presence.

Courtisane Festival And Roadburn Festival

Sambhar 1.0 continues with musician and sound artist KMRU, moving through performance, listening and place.

The work has travelled with him through Courtisane Festival in Ghent and Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, entering two different environments of live sound.

SESSION FOUR

Armen Miran With Sambhar 2.0

The Record Begins

Sambhar 2.0 begins its journey with Armen Miran, an Armenian Iranian DJ, producer and multi instrumentalist whose practice moves through atmosphere, spirituality, nature and electronic sound.

Sambhar 2.0 carries another geography. The work originates from an image made in Sambhar, Rajasthan, later translated through hand embroidery and cloth. A landscape held first as a photograph, then slowly rebuilt into something worn.

Armen’s Armenian Iranian heritage and relationship with the Middle East meet a work already concerned with memory, place and the movement of landscape through another medium.

Sambhar 2.0 now enters Armen’s world. Its movement through sound, place and time will be recorded here as it unfolds.

Within the Circle, media does not sit around the work as decoration. Image, cloth, sound and movement can hold different states of the same memory.

A work may begin with a photograph, a landscape, a found textile, a drawing, or something carried from a record. The order changes. The relationship between them remains.

The work is named where appropriate and each artist’s practice retains its own authorship.

Photographs, film and documentation may be held by both sides with clarity and care.
Respect For Pace
No posting schedule is imposed. The work should feel lived with before it is documented.
